HypnoFertility
The ability to conceive a baby is a real concern for a lot of people. In fact, it's estimated that one in seven couples (around 3.5m people) in the UK have difficulty conceiving.
Assisting conception
Despite the tremendous progress that's been made in in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and other methods of assisted pregnancy, the success rate for these procedures remains around 20%. Complementary therapies are known to boost the success rate, and one of the most powerful of these is hypnotherapy.
A powerful complementary therapy
The powerful effect of hypnosis for fertility was initially discovered after women using hypnotherapy for needle phobias were more relaxed and had a greater chance of conceiving. One study demonstrated that women utilising mind-body techniques had a 42-55% conception rate in comparison to those not using these techniques.
Since then, hypnotherapeutic techniques have been developed expressly for fertility. In fact, hypnotherapy is up to 80% effective for unexplained infertility.
Trusting in the natural processes of the body
At the Apex Practice, I use a combination of Hypnofertility (as taught by the highly-respected Hypnobirthing Institute) and advanced techniques from the London College of Hypnotherapy.
Usually around four to six hour-long sessions are necessary. In the first, a detailed case history will be taken and self hypnosis will be taught. Then, over the next sessions hypnotherapy will help you feel more relaxed, confident and better able to trust the natural processes of the body. Crucially, any unconscious 'blocks' to conception will also be released.
"I had had so many procedures I felt as if it was never going to work. After having hypnotherapy I felt positive about having IVF for the first time." Sara.
"I now feel mentally and emotionally prepared for my IVF. There is no guarantee that it's going to work for me, but even if it doesn't hypnotherapy was such a valuable thing to do." Emma.
